Most of our regular smart-phones have one major limitation, that is if drowned, they tend to die. But Comet a smart phone, that is being called as the world’s first water-proof and buoyant smart phone by its manufacturer, has begun raising funds on IndieGogo and already crossed $25,000 in funding.
Comet phone is built to be waterproof and completely buoyant, the designers say that it’s ideal for people who like to take their phones with them while surfing, sailing, or hanging out at the pool or the beach.
“We developed Comet to be a phone that people could truly take anywhere,” stated Founder Prashanth Raj Urs.
In addition to being waterproof and buoyant, Comet introduces many new features to the Android smart phone industry. First and foremost, a Quantum Lock utilizing military-grade 256 bit AES to encrypt voice communications, ensures the user’s privacy. This QLock feature allows you to speak securely and with confidence during business and personal conversations. The Comet will also include a border of Turquoise LED lights that light up when a user receives a call or message, a pre-installed bubble messenger that allows users to communicate and also a pre-installed app designed on a biometric platform that detects users’ body temperatures and displays a specific color to indicate mood.

“We also wanted Comet to really reflect its users’ personalities, so we made it as customizable as possible. Comet is very functional, but also fun to use,” said President Matthias Mende.
The Comet Team has ensured that the phone is equipped with the highest quality hardware available. Both the front and rear cameras are 16Mp and can be activated simultaneously to record videos from both cameras at the same time or take two pictures at the same time. The screen has a 720 x 1280 Full HD resolution. Comet is built with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, a 4GB RAM and comes with a 2800 mah battery. Consumers can choose between a 32GB and a 64GB Comet.
Comet’s early bird price will cost between $249-$289 depending on whether consumers choose the 32 or 64GB option.
The Comet also comes in three flavors, White, Black and Gold.
The Comet will be completely unlocked, so consumers can use it in any country they’d like on whichever network they’d like, including Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.
