How did the idea for Farepie start?

“When I opened my take out restaurant, I was partnering with 3 most influential online food delivery companies in New York. The online ordering business model was awesome but it was proving to be expensive for my business and the time it took to deliver my check was daunting. And I wish I had a better solution to this problem. I checked all the companies and everyone had the same business model. They just charged little less than the big companies. So I decided to do something about this which would have room for more flexibility and more benefits for the small restaurant owners like myself. Hence Farepie was born.” Tshering Dorji says.

Their biggest challenge was when they had to walk the entire Manhattan from Wall street to Washington Heights, asking restaurants to sign up as partners and they say that it was a rewarding experience at the end.

How does Farepie, fare better than others?

For the Diners they are working to get better deals (happy hour deals, brunch deals, discounts deals) , Simple navigation and personalization and faster checkout. For restaurants owners, Farepie ranks the restaurants based on quality of food, service and location and they promote restaurants for Dine in.

Farepie recognizes that Grubhub, Seamless, Eat24 are it’s biggest competitors. They plan to expand to other cities in 2 – 3 years.

Their target audience is primarily every foodie, starting from Manhattan, New York.

“We generate revenue from a monthly flat-rate sales business model. We encourage restaurant business owner to build up his/her customers in Farepie and we help them decide to create their own coupons and deals based on their preference and charge a small fee per coupon they generate” he explains.
