Meet The Genius That Runs The Show!

tookapic was ideated and conceptualized by Pawel Kadysz.

Pawel, runs a small web design and development studio in Bialystok, Poland. This startup is a small dynamic team of three with the right attitude for success.

Know tookapic Better!

This app helps make photo taking a daily fun and addictive habit. It is a site that lets you capture your life with one photo a day. Imagine at the end of 365 days, you get this amazing opportunity to actually go back and see all those beautiful photos you have taken in the past year. This surely counts for making some great memories.

What Problems is tookapic Solving?

How many photos do you take every day? 10? 100? 1,000? How many of them actually matter. How many would you like to save? If you could choose just one photo every day, which one would it be?

We often end up taking way too much photos that don’t mean anything to us. Well tookapic let users finally capture their year with one photo a day.

The Inspiration Behind It All!

It all started on August 15, 2013. It was on this day that Pawel started his own photo a day project where he diligently publishes one photograph every day. It was after few weeks of running privat.ly (that’s the name of his project) he noticed it became a source of inspiration for quite a few people. His friends and people he met on Twitter and Facebook began to set up their own photo blogs.

“Unfortunately, most of them gave up after a few days. Some managed to run their projects for several weeks. None actually got it pass two months. We know people want to run their photo a day projects. We also know that they aren’t motivated enough to keep going. That’s why we’re starting tookapic. To keep you motivated along the way. We’ll make sure that your journey from photo #1 to photo #365 is exciting and rewarding”, adds Pawel.

On Challenges Faced & Competitors

As tookapic is the team’s side project, the biggest challenge for them was finding the time to develop the app between client work. On the other hand, in terms of competitors, there is no other app in the market that is like tookapic. One can argue that you can run your 365 project on tumblr, Flickr, Facebook or Twitter. However, unlike tookapic these apps do not have a support community, the right interface or rewarding element to keep you motivated to get photos without missing a day.

On Expansion Plans, Target Audience & More

At the moment, tookapic is just a web application. The team is planning on launching its iOS native app in the near future. Presently, this app is predominantly targeted towards photography enthusiasts, amateurs and pros.

The Monetizing Model!

“We have premium accounts with additional features. Also, our users will soon be able to sell their photos via our site. We’ll be getting a small sales commission”, says Pawel.

To perfectly sum it up, tookapic is here to give everyone a great way to document 365 days of their life by posting one photo a day.
