Time is Money! This is an age old saying that still holds high relevance in our modern life. If you are a highly-qualified professional then why shy away from making more money even during your ‘free’ time!
To allow you to do just that, there is a new app now available on your app store called Hire.Bid. This app is your marketplace that literally converts your time into fortune.
Meet the Founder!
Hire.Bid was ideated and founded by Neil Sandhu.
Neil, who is also the CEO of this start-up, is a serial entrepreneur. His past entrepreneurial experiences include founding ProfectMarket and HireTrade. He is also an attorney by profession who taught himself to do the development work for Hire.Bid.
Know The App Better!
Hire.Bid is based out of 1776, the DC startup incubator. The premise of this app is simple but revolutionary. It is basically a marketplace that allows highly-qualified professional from Washington, DC to sell their available time at an auction.
Unlike other websites connecting professionals and clients that often result in a race to the bottom in terms of price, Hire.Bid flips the equation so that the best professionals are able to harness the demand for their expertise by accepting bids for their available time.
What Inspired It All?
“As a professional, I knew there had to be a better way for the best professionals to be rewarded for their expertise on the Internet. To date, professional marketplaces generally result in a race to the bottom, where professionals compete on price. High-end work is still done generally the old-fashioned way of inefficient personal referrals”, says Neil.
On Challenges Faced & Competitors
For Neil, the biggest hurdle was the development of the app, as it took some time. Hire.Bid is still only a beta, and some major improvement in design and functionalities can be expected in the coming weeks and months.
When it boils down to competition, eLance, guru and HourlyNerd pose as potential competitors to this app.
On Expansion Plans, Target Audience and Monetizing Plans
“We plan to take a measured approach to scaling. Don’t know exactly where we’ll be, but we look forward to the journey ahead”, says Neil.
At the moment, Hire.Bid is mainly targeting audience that consists of high-end professionals and clients in need of experts in the Washington, DC metro area. Also, a commission on transactions is charged to generate revenue.
To sum it up, if you are a highly-qualified professional in this big mean metro then you know where to go to turn your time into some good looking currency!
