Recently, DailyNinja, a subscription based hyperlocal mobile solution for all needs has raised the first round of funding from Aprameya Radhakrishna, Founder of TaxiForSure, Afsal Salu – Co Founder of Delyver (acquired by BigBasket), and Naman Sarawagu – Founder of FindYogi.
Founded by Sagar Yarnalkar and Anurag Gupta, both alumni of BITS Pilani Goa Campus, DailyNinja started out 4 months ago. They have a team of 8 employees, and they’re expanding fast. They Currently cater to 500 orders, daily. Mainly operational in and around Marathahalli and Mahadevapura areas in Bangalore.
Sagar was previously leading Appspire Technologies (appspire.in), a mobile services firm based in Mumbai and was also Co-Founder of Scoot (scootapp.com). Anurag was also a Co-founder in Appspire Technologies and was working in Goldman Sachs as a Senior Analyst.

DailyNinja was born out of a necessity when Sagar and Anurag realised that since most of the daily needs such as milk, groceries, bread / eggs for breakfast and fruits for your kids are subscription based in nature, they keep recurring every single day and their perishable nature makes it difficult to stock them for future use. So they built a subscription based platform that allows users to set subscriptions for their daily needs which are then delivered next morning between 5am and 8am.
Currently DailyNinja supplies Milk, Bread, Eggs, Curd, Dosa Batter, Cottage cheese and Water Cans.

What value was DailyNinja adding?

When asked why he chose to invest in DailyNinja, Aprameya Radhakrishna, the lead investor said, “The daily needs market is a subscription based one. The target audience is huge and yet this vital market is untapped. Team DailyNinja has come up with a perfect solution to deal with this highly unorganised sector. I liked the speed of execution and vision with Sagar and Anurag are going about it”.
They plan to use the funds to expand their operations to serve other areas of Bangalore and setup warehouses across the city for swift delivery.
Challenges they are currently facing

Daily needs like Milk are critical every morning for a household and it is extremely important to have timely delivery as Peoples schedules depend on these items.
“Operationally, catering to our fast growing user base is a challenge and we have been delivering in the morning ourselves.”, Sagar added.

Sagar’s advice to other Entrepreneurs

“Entrepreneurship teaches you a lot and is a very humbling experience, you realize the difficulty and challenges it takes to start something from scratch and give it a shape. More often than not you would end up with something very different from what you started. The first few months are crucial, here you try to bring your idea from paper into the real world and you would realize all the constraints and bottlenecks. Always have a plan-B and be flexible to new ideas. For those who want to venture into e-commerce, always remember delivery is the key. Nothing is worse than angry unsatisfied customers.”, he said
